- Select your pot. Make sure you have a big enough bucket to put this in.

- We used an empty Gib bucket. (15kg) Line with a rubbish bag to make removing of the mould easier.

- Stuff the pot with screwed up newspaper. This is to keep the mould mix from entering. Tape up any holes on the bottom of the pot.

- To find out how much water you will need. Put the pot and your hands in the bucket and fill with water to the top of your hands. For every 2.5 litres of water add a bag (500gms) of mould mix.

- Remove hands and the pot and then add the mould mix. Whisk until creamy, like a thick yoghurt consistency. Using an electric drill with a paint mixer attachment gives the smoothest result.

- When it is lighter pink push the bowl in all the way to the bottom. Put your hands around the pot.

- This could take between 5 - 10mins to set, so make sure you are all comfortable.

- Once set gradually one by one remove your hands. Adding some water will help release the suction.

- Rinse the mould with a few cups of water.

- To find out how much water to use, fill the mould with water and tip into a container to measure.

- For every 100mls of water add 105 grams of plaster. The plaster should be like runny custard. It should coat the spoon without blobs. Add water or plaster to achieve this mix.

- Pour plaster into the mould and fill to the top.

- Tap to release bubbles.

- Leave to set for 1 hour to 2 hours depending on humidity. The plaster should not be warm to touch.

- Carefully turnover and release from the bucket.

- Break away mould in small chunks. Clean up casting .

- If you have broken a finger or a hand comes away from the pot superglue these back on. Once painted you won't see this.

- Leave to dry for at least a week.

- It can then be painted. Oil or water based paints. Spray method is the best. Lightly spray 3 to 4 coats. Painting does help to protect your casting.
